Tour of California Bicycle RaceSanta Margarita:  the Southern edge of Paso Wine Country,  Santa Margarita is just over “the Grade”, Cuesta Grade, from San Luis Obispo.  It offers that small town character with extensive ranch and vineyards east and is still convenient to San Luis Obispo.

Templeton:  Located midway between Atascadero and Paso Robles on Hwy 101, Templeton is truly unique.  It’s small town character combined with some excellent restaurants,  no wonder Templeton is quickly being discovered.  Templeton also is home of one of the larger hospitals in San Luis Obispo County.

Creston/Shandon:  I’m sure the locals of these two town wouldn’t like being lumped together,  but they represent a lifestyle which is similar.  The area is rolling hills of vineyards and cattle country.  It’s the country life:  rural,  quiet.  Out of the way.
